Still not working

So its been - let me see - 4 days times 24 hours.....96 hours (hey comcast, not 72 hours) and my phone still doesn't have a referral message on it !

So in my last posting I said I was able to change the answering machine message, so at least I could "tell" people my new number. Guess what ? Comcast turned off the voicemail about 3 hours after I posted that.

Know what people heard when they called me ?

"There is no mailbox for that number" (click)

so, I call again......they are trying - but what's the problem??? now this drives me crazy: The helpdesk that I call (1-800-COMCAST) say "that's not our number, we can't change it"

what ? of course it's your number, I've been paying you for the last 5 years....

No, not "ours" as in Comcast, "ours" as in this department. We can't update their systems, so we have to put a ticket in for you and they say it'll be done within 72 hours (umm..it's 96 hours now)

The left hand can't talk to the right hand !

SO - now, if you're within my area code - it seems to work, but nowhere else (maybe the employee that handles the "out of the areacode" database is out sick...god forbid someone else in the company can pick up the slack.

I will make sure this gets into the rights hands to expedite the resolution.

What is the best contact number for you? If you could please send me that information with the phone number in question, I would greatly appreciate it.

I appreciate the opportunity to assist and I apologize for the inconvenience we have caused.

Thanks Mark - was good talking to you yesterday....I appreciate the attention to my problem - but if you look at the blog posting made today my problem seems to be getting worse (no outbound phone service now)
